Going on 5 months... HELP!!??

I met this guy in February he makes me so happy and every time I'm with no one else matters. I don't care for any other guys even though we aren't dating. I've asked why we haven't moved on to the next level and he always says I don't want to rush it because getting to know someone as friends so when we get into a relationship there's no surprises. I've told him multiple times how I felt about him and my feelings and my heat are on the table now. All I think about is him. I'm 20 years old. Am I dumb for waiting? I honestly don't think so because we have a great time together. We make each other smile. I want him to be the one
