My baby girl

Erikka • Mommy of two 💕 5.20.16 👧🏻 & 1.14.19 👶🏻

My baby girl was born on May 20th 2:56 am, arrived 5 days before her due date. On the 19th at 1pm my water broke on its own while I was napping (the day after I took off for my maternity leave). Since I am FTM I didn't think anything of it (I thought it was a kick) and went back to sleep for another 20 min 🙄 when I got up to use the bathroom I felt a little fluid come down. I told my mom I think my water broke. I text my SO telling him what was going on, I can tell he was excited through our text msgs lol

It's now already 2pm so we took a quick drive to my doctor, they confirmed my water broke and I was dilated 3cm. I was told to head to the hospital asap because I had GBS. But instead we headed back home to pick up my dad (my parents are first time grandparents, they didn't know how to act) and my hospital bag, then rushed to pick up my bf from his job. All the while I had water gushing out of me which was the most uncomfortable feeling ever.

We arrived at the hospital around 4:30 pm.. New York traffic 😪

Anyway, they got me into a room quickly and from here on everything moved pretty quick. Active labor didn't start until 5:30 pm. When the contractions really kicked in I laid there and just cried and whined. My poor boyfriend looked so lost. He tried to comfort me in every way that he could. My mom would tell me "you can scream and cry, just don't get the epidural. (This woman birthed 4 kids all natural, no meds and one of my sisters being 10lbs 😩) I was hoping to go all natural as well but me being the punk that I am I couldn't handle it after a while. I finally got the epidural around 7:30 pm. About every half hr the nurse would come in to check up on the baby. After a few hrs, they were turning me on my sides and on my back. My daughters heart rate was dropping. I would say around 2:30 am (who really is paying attention to time) the doctor came in, didn't like what he seen and told me I was going to get an emergency c-section. I was so not ready for this shit. I mean, my whole pregnancy was great, I had no complications or anything.

My boyfriend was scared as shit, I was shaking uncontrollably, my mom really wanted to be there when I gave birth, but of course shit happens.

And at 2:56 am on May 20th my baby girl Kennedy was born. Came to find out my little girl had the cord wrapped around her neck. But I thank God she was born healthy at 6lbs 12.5 oz and 20 in long
