Balayage and/or highlights?

I have been putting off getting my hair done. I have about 2 inches of growth. I get balayage done to my hair, my stylist assures me that no product touches the scalp. I will be 15 weeks tomorrow, my dr said I could do my hair after 12 weeks. Too soon? Anyone else getting their hair done around this time? Is it safe?

I work in a salon and it's fine as long as it doesn't touch the scalp. Although, I'm not a big fan of dying my hair (more because of the fumes) while pregnant so I had my stylist do an ombre since I was blonde but my natural is dark brown. Dark 'roots' mean I don't have to dye my hair anymore :-D that is until my sweet baby is born! :)

I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and I just had belyage done this past Tuesday it's perfectly fine. As long as you are out of the first trimester you are in the clear.

I got my hair highlighted at 4 weeks pregnant and Baby is fine. My doctor said getting your hair or nails done is fine even in the first trimester!

I'm also a hairstylist ask if they have products without ammonia at your salon. That's usually the issue during early pregnancy because you don't really want to breathe that in either. And if you want you could always wait until the second trimester just to be safe. 😁

I got a full highlight at 7 weeks, baby is still alive and well 😄 as long as you're using a professional stylist and the product doesn't contain ammonia (almost all professional products don't) you're just fine. It's the box mixes that are full of crazy chemicals that can pose a problem. And balyage is even better because it doesn't touch the scalp. You'll both be alright!

I generally follow the rule of waiting until the first trimester is done and I'd only do highlights or Belayage personally (versus dye on my whole head) but I think you should be fine!

It's fine. I made an appointment for July 22nd to get mine touched up. Would have been sooner but my stylist is having surgery and will be out from June 20th to July 21st. It doesn't touch your scalp so it's fine

My salon had a special dye that they used, forget what it was called, but I got mine done about 3 weeks ago and baby is safe and sound!

It's totally fine as long as you tell you hair dresser she/he can pick the right product. I just did mine this week. We used a blond color for the balayage instead of bleach. And since they wrap your hair in plastic after you don't get all he fumes (just a little when she applied it and she put me next to an open window to be cautious). I go to an aveda salon though so their colors tend to be on the less toxic side.
