Is it tacky to do a Facebook Event Baby Shower invite?

I have this cute invitation to post, but I definitely do not want to look bad. HONEST opinions please!!

I so made a Facebook event for my shower. I sent out invites to the grandparents bc they don't have Facebook.

I'm old fashion and I prefer mailed invitations. I think Facebook invites are great for a summer barbeque but for a shower I think a mail invite is more appropriate.

If you asked me before my baby shower, I would say no way.. Tacky.. But now afterwards.. All the time and money I spent in invites only for people to not even RSVP. (They showed up, just didn't respond) I feel like Facebook is totally acceptable. I'll never special order invites for anything ever again.

I did both! I did a Facebook event invite to confirm everybody that was going to come, once I got a confirmed list of people that were going to come to the shower, I sent out the paper invites I bought to those individuals. So that they I had an actual physical invite in their hands. It was a good way of knowing who was going to be there. The guests also had a nice keepsake for them to save once they received their paper invites.

Honestly mail out invites always get thrown away. Family who weren't on social media I have a call.

I'm old-fashioned and honestly think it's very tacky. I feel like if someone really wants me to come to their party and buy them a $50 gift, the least they can do is write my address on an envelope and buy a stamp. It's so impersonal to send an evite to a party with gifts. I think it's fine for other things but not showers.

I would never send Facebook ( or any technology related) invites. I think that mailed invitations are more appropriate for the occasion.

I left out the major point that the majority of my friends and none of my family lives here in my town. So practically everyone would have to travel. So I have noo idea who would actually make the trip. (I considered having a "meet the baby" shower for a quick minute but I really would rather have the traditional shower pre-baby!)

It depends on how formal the event is. Is it just a few friends and family at a house etc. or is it catered or a dress up event? If it's something small and casual- go ahead but if it is a more formal I would go with real invitations.
