Grief during a time meant for excitement
In the last week my childhood best friend died of an accidental overdose, when she was supposed to be trying to start getting clean. And the woman who was like my mother when I was growing up died. No one thought to call me for either so I had to find out through people posting about stuff on Facebook. It's hard to be so excited for my baby coming soon when people I care about keep dying. I was so excited for the woman who was like my mother to meet my son when he was born and now she can't and I'm having a hard time processing it. She got of a nearly lethal illness just two years ago. She got down to 65 lbs before she was going to be moved to hospice, when they found out what was wrong with her. She got better, she relearned how to walk, she got married, and she died. Does anyone have any advice for dealing with such sad feelings during what should be a joyous time in my life?
