Cervix?

Question

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and I've checked my cervix probably twice more recently being a couple weeks ago. I decided to check it last night and I can't get it at all. Is that normal?!?!

Hey I'm a midwife and it would be getting hard to get up to your cervix with a stomach in the way. There is no need to touch it in pregnancy until you are in labour, as a midwife sometimes I struggle to reach the cervix of women because the opening is facing the back and in labour it opens, shortens and moves to face the front. And that's me doing it to another woman, because the cervix is meant to sit up high.

I ended up in the hospital due to bleeding Saturday, and the ob on call said mine was extremely high as well.

I'm 26 weeks now my last doc apt i was 25 weeks and I was curious as to how long or short mine was, it wasn't hard to find but it felt extremely small, like shorter than the tip if a finger. Worried me but my doctor doesn't check my cervix at all so I'm not sure how small is is now is OK or not.

He sits SUPER low. I just checked it and could feel it perfect and now I can't which why I was wondering. If gone into labor already so it's scary. I'm going into the Dr tomorrow so I'm gonna see if they will check me cause I contract regularly and I didn't before.

I can't find mine at all... I would think with baby's positioning if baby is low, it would push it down more? So maybe baby is just higher making your pelvic floor a little higher too? I don't know, I don't think it's anything to worry about though. I know my doctor had trouble seeing mine once because it was like, tucked up and facing kind of backwards almost, I had to lift my hips up so they could see it. They didn't seem concerned at all.
