Any mommies here induced?

Can I hear about your labor experience being induced??? I'm 34 weeks and my fibernectin was positive. I might have to be induced and my friends are saying that being induced is the worsttttt experience ever. Supposedly they put some sticks inside your cervix without numbing you at all? ?? Is this true?

I'm so scared right now, I don't do well with pain and I tend to get aggressive.

I dont remember them doing anything to my cervix, i got pitocin to induce labor, but the pain is waaay more painful when you get induce than that of a normal labor, dont suffer thru it and just get the epidural asap if ur planning to

I don't think forcing labour before you're body is ready is a good idea. I know in some cases it's necessary. But if you can wait, I would. That's just my opinion. Just from what I've heard induction makes the labour pain a lot worse. For some though is goes really smoothly. So you just have to decide what's best for you.

I've been induced twice, and gone into labour naturally once. It all depends on how you cope with pain, and how your hospital induce. I'm actually being induced on the 28th when I'll be 34 weeks due to medical reasons (safer for baby to be out than in). At our hospital, they will first try two six hour pessaries. They're a little uncomfortable being put in, but not painful. If that doesn't work, it'll be breaking my waters (if possible) and going on a drip to start dilation/contractions. The breaking of the waters again is uncomfortable but not unbearable. Yes the contractions get intense quicker than during natural labour (in my experience) but I managed to do it last time purely on gas and air and I'm shit with pain I really am. Good luck to you!

It is true they place, it's like a pill, inside your cervix to help thin you and jump start labor. It doesn't hurt when they place it. What hurt me the worst was when they said it will "jump start" labor then the real contractions started... By me being induced my sons heart rate was going up and down and it wouldn't stay constant because he was under too much stress. I had to be induced because I had gestational diabetes. I learned my lesson and if it was up to me I wouldn't have done it that way if I could have controlled it. Just remember every pregnancy is different. Good luck Hun!

Honestly being induced made labor harder for me. I had constant contractions for almost 12 hours till my baby was born and they were painful and less then a min apart most of the time. I got the epidural around 6cm and it helped so much! I'm hoping this one doesn't have any complications and I don't have to be induced. For me they couldn't get my contractions to show properly on the moniter so they had to put a thing inside to read those...that hurt and my baby kept kicking it. Lol Labor is hard no matter what though really. It's worth the pain though and when your in the situation nothing else really matters. Before labor I was worried about people seeing everything, pooping on the table, tearing and so much more...during labor and pushing I forgot it all bc I knew I got to see my little one soon. If it hurts and you can't take it don't be afraid to ask for pain meds or an epidural if you need it, it really does help the experience be a little less painful. Good luck!!

My baby boy was breached, and when I was scheduled for a c-section the little sucker flipped! However I had the PUPPPS rash which could only begin to heal once he was out of me so I was induced at 38 weeks. Problem with inducing me was he wasn't head down at all during my pregnancy so he never began pushing on my cervix softening it up/beginning to dilate so they called my cervix a clenched fist!

My OB put cervidil which was basically a little tab of medicine on a string, essentially a tampon but way worse haha, and stuck it into my cervix and 12 hours later I was only 1 CM when they removed it 🙄🙄 
for another  9 hours I sat hooked up to IVs injecting pitocin and by 9AM when my OB checked my cervix again I was 3 cm and she broke my water. From then on I believe everything about my "labor" was pretty normal as far as timing , minus my epidural going all wrong and feeling all the feels as I pushed my little man into the world. Total labor from start of induction to end for me was 28 hours, and 9 months later all I remember is how wonderful it was to see him lying on my chest for the first time!

I was induced at 39 weeks due to low amniotic fluid. My doctor decided to do this procedure where they stick a balloon type thing in between your baby and cervix to help open it up since I was already dilated to a 3. That wasn't an awesome experience but not too bad! That opened me to a 6 then started pitocin. I got an epidural at 8 cm and my girl was born after just a few pushes! The total was about 12 hours of labor, but overall it was a really good experience and I can't imagine it going much smoother!

I was hooked up to an IV of Pitocin to induce.  I didn't get the pill inserted others are referring to.  We started at 6:30am. I had had a fetal heart monitor attached to my stomach for three days at that point.  I was in the hospital for several days prior to being induced.  A few hours after being induced the doctor came in and determined that I was dilated enough to finish breaking my water.   At that point it was only slowly leaking, so he used a device to break my water.  After my water was broke a different type of fetal heart monitor was inserted into my vagina and onto my son's head.  At around 1:00 my son's heart rate had dropped too much and too many times.  I was rushed for an emergency c-section.
