Surprise baby shower

So my husband planned a surprise baby shower. His family is Spanish so when they do these types of things they usually do it on Sunday and of coarse everything attends because they are all in church together. I just figured out though that he planned and payed for this shower, for Father's Day. So I asked my best friend and she said that everyone she talked to couldn't go. I'm not into thes types of things, but I'm a bit disappointed in him when my mother and 2 best friends tried planning one and he refused to have help, but then plans it for Father's Day. Am I wrong? I'm not going to say anything to him about it, it just kinda sucks that he didn't really think about this, since we don't attend his old church and moved its not like the people he used to know would come. And I don't know anyone from his old church. Neither of us attend
