Tampons

Hello this probably a silly question comming from a 26 yr old, but i tried a tampon for the first time today, i forgot my pads went to work today all we had was tampons, i actually havent minded it and thinking about switching but do you still use liners with them? Does anyone have a favorite brand? Anything else i should know?
