What do I need ?

So I'm a FTM and I'm going to get the stuff for my little buck this weekend, whAt would you recommend getting and what do you think is a waste?

I was told a changing table was a waist, but got one anyways. It ended up being my best and most used purchase. I still use it for my toddler who is being potty trained.

However, I was told to get a diaper gene or something similar. Worst purchase. Those diaper trash cans fill up wayyyyy to quickly and the liners cost way too much. I ended up getting rid of my diaper gene (I had two different brands) and got a large trash can with a lid that opens when you step on it.  I use that trash can with the mint scented trash bags from walmart and it works perfectly and saves us money and time.

Also, get several diaper brands in size 1 (that way you know you will have time to try them before baby outgrows them.)

Try all the diaper brands before stocking up on just one. Thank goodness I did this because my poor son ended up only using pampers. Huggies were too narrow (like a thong), loves let him pee out of them, generic were crap, and pampers were perfect!

Get onesies! Don't get just newborn ones. I got a few newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 because you never know if the baby will fit in the newborn and for how long. :) get diapers, but different brands, and if you don't use them and the boxes are unopened you can exchange them for a different size! So KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. Bottles of course. I bought dr Browns bottles, they're expensive though. Any bottles will really do. I plan on breastfeeding so I bought stuff for that too! Just keep receipts in case you have to exchange some things.
