It's been a nightmare.. I'm thankful for being alive!
So I had my little girl on May 2nd 2016..she was 5 pounds 13 ounces...19.5 inches long
My first baby..and can you say in love! Well I ended up having a emergency c section due to her heart rate dropping. Everything was going great after. I was in a lot of pain from my incision..but being a first time mom, I thought the pain was pretty normal. So after staying in the hospital for 4 days..my baby girl, my husband and I went home..little did I know that less than 12 hours, I would be fighting for my life! The evening of my discharge,..I noticed a small bruise on my c section incision..I just thought it was normal.. The next morning the bruise was the size of a slice of bread..it was filled with liquid and it smelled horrible! At the time my husband rush me back to the hospital..to make a long story short...I was diagnosed with flesh eating bacteria infection..that apparently got when I had my emergency c section. I was fighting for my life of mothers day..had my first surgery..was admitted to icu where I stayed for a week then I had 5 additional surgeries to clean out infection..I was put on several antibiotics and missed the first 3 weeks of my daughters life due to me being in the hospital. I'm still recovering and have to wear a wound vac on my wound until it heals. The only good thing that came out of all this is my daughter..if I had of waited one more day before going back to the hospital, I would have been dead! All because someone didn't clean properly at the hospital. I'm just thankful that I'm here to tell my story and be here with my family. You just never think that this kind of thing would happen to you!
