Both of us working- yay or nay?

Me and my boyfriend have jobs- no kids no pets. But... I don't wanna work! Instead of both of us working all day then cleaning the house, he can work and i can clean the house Anyway, he tells me it's fine if i quit my job, he'll just work full time at another place. I'll feel guilty if he's working and I'm not! I feel like him working several hours a day would be much worse than what i would deal with as a housewife. What would you do?

You'd be home alone a lot. It gets super boring and he'll be working more to support you. Honestly it sounds like you're being lazy. Sorry hate on me all you want. Why would you want him to work more when you're capable and you don't have kids or pets that need your attention? If you hate your job find something new.

My husband is military also and he works I stay home and yes it can be nice to get to sleep in a little and get the stuff I need done like the laundry and cleaning and taking care of the dogs, but... YOU CAN ONLY CLEAN SO MUCH. It's boring. If we didn't only have one car that he takes to work everyday I'd probably be working full time somewhere. This is the first time in 8 years that I havnt worked. And it was nice at first because like I said 8 years of working full time and sometimes two jobs at once we all know we get tired but once that initial relaxing happy housewife who cooks and cleans wears off trust me you are going to want to work again or at least pick up a few hobbies outside of your home. I love being able to have my husband come home from a long day and have a home cooked mean on the table for him but if I had the ability to go back to work right now you get your ass I would in a heart beat.

tbh i find that yall wouldnt see eachother as much if only he worked bc hed be really tired when he got home and im sure yall cleaning togethwr is a bonding sort of thing. when/if yall have kids it would probably be better for you to not work and take care of them until a certain age. but for now, think about yalls relationshil

My husband is in the military and we moved 7 months ago to San Diego, CA. He told me I could stay at home and not work since he makes enought for me to stay home and pay all of our bills. As nice as it sounded it was boring as hell! I don't know how other women do the whole stay at home housewife thing. I was home for 3 months and I was more moody, lazy as time progressed, and there was tension between my husband and I because I was always at home. I found a job 4 months ago I'm a supervisor and I couldn't be happier. More income, more time to miss my hubby, and I get to socialize with people other than through a computer or cell phone. Keep your job. I would be leery about him telling you to quit since he would be making all the money that sometimes can turn someone controlling. It's best to have your own money as well instead of depending on someone else. Especially since you guys are not married (not saying it can't be the same for married people) but it's easier to walk away from a relationship that you are not legally bound to. You just never know what will happen.

My mom had 2 kids a husband (my step dad)  and a house

They both worked saturday and sunday were cleaning days unless we had plans then the cleaning would get stretched out over the week or put off until the next weekend and we went out and had lives as a family we were really never home on the weekends its do able you just have to want it too

I just think since you dont have any kids you should keep working abd then you can stay home if and when you and him decide to start a family but its really up to you

I worked for 9 years putting my wife through college, she had a few part time jobs but mostly she focused on her studies. When she got her career I left my job (it kind of worked out perfectly because my boss had started treating me terribly and I was horribly depressed) so now I'm a housewife. I clean, cook, and take our dog for walks. I feel a lot of pride for taking care of my wife's needs but I gotta say I felt more fufilled having my career. I sometimes feel a lot of guilt for not staying at my job and contributing financially to our household...but it is nice to be home all day! My wife tells me that it makes her happy that I'm out of that situation and she loves how clean everything is now lol.
