Checking cervical position?

Question

Ive been checking for about 2 months now and have never been quite sure if I've felt the right thing as it's never felt like a nose or lips! I happened to bear down today whilst checking and I did feel something but this was with a full length of finger in, in addition to bearing down. Does it sound like I'm feeling the right thing?

It feels like a fluffy fruit loop or a more firm fruit loop!  It's really wierd to touch, it doesn't have nerves really!  You can trace around it with your finger and feel the edges!

I hated checking my cervical position, it never seemed to comply with the rules about when it should be high and when it should be low, plus it would leave a dull discomfort about my cervix no matter how clean my hands were before checking. I found OPKs way more reliable.
