When to tell everyone?!

Since recently finding out I'm pregnant, I've begun feeling anxious about when is the "right time" to tell everyone...
I am 7 weeks and 3 days

I only started a new job 4 weeks ago so I'm worried about telling my manager as I'm still finding my feet in the new role

My little boy who is 5 is desperate for younger siblings and I've been so tempted to tell him but also would find it so difficult to then tell him if we lost the baby. I'm certain I want him to know before everyone else in the family

Additionally for me to worry about, I have a friend who has been ttc for over 2 years and suffered 1 mmc. She is a very close friend who has openly said she doesn't know how she'd cope if anyone else fell pregnant before her. I don't want to lose her as a friend but need to tell her at some point.

So all this stressing is having a bit of a negative feeling around my pregnancy. I really want to only have positive vibes about the baby and the future :) any advice would be lovely.

I would wait until 12-14 weeks to tell anyone. Depending on what your job is I would tell your boss at about 10-12 weeks.

I've miscarried this year and was afraid to even be pregnant again, let alone tell anyone! I ended up telling my parents and in-laws early because I wanted lots of extra prayers this time around. My few closest friends knew, too. I then told a few others once I saw a heartbeat (9 weeks tomorrow) but I won't announce or do anything on Facebook (most likely) because I know how hard it is to suffer every time you see someone else get pregnant. As for your friend that's miscarried, tell her right away. I know from experience. My best friend didn't tell me she was pregnant (and I straight up asked) and now there's a wedge between us. It may be unforgivable. It'll be hard for her but she needs to know! Most women don't tell the general public until they're out of the first trimester. Good luck!

My husband and I waited till I started showing to tell people. We told our parents at 18 weeks, and friends at 20. I would have waited to tell my work too but since I worked in a dental office and was around X-rays and such I had to inform my office manager as soon as I could, around 7 weeks.
