When would you have baby shower?

My baby is due January 8th. I'm aware that Christmas and Thanksgiving are around this time. Our family also has quite a few birthdays in October/November/December

I'm due December 22nd, I am going to have my baby shower in early October. I'll be almost 30 weeks. Right after my birthday. ❤️

I'm due in January and having my shower at the end of October. I'm traveling back to my home state for my shower and I don't want to be extremely far along at that point.

My SIL is due new years day and I'm throwing her shower November 12th! :) so sometime in mid November sounds like a good plan! Especially with all the craziness of the holidays if it was me I'd rather have it a little earlier than push into December.

I had my shower a full 2 months before the due date.
Pros:
• bump in pictures (not too early)
• I could walk without waddling (not too late)
• all my gifts were washed before my energy dipped in the third trimester
• our venue had a Sunday brunch time available (real reason for the earlyish shower)
• all of my work friends could come since no one was on vacation (mid May shower for late July baby; I teach so June is end of school)
• lots of time to order things you didn't receive and write thank you cards (still working on that last part)

Cons:
• you might run into some of those birthdays you mentioned
• the holidays nearby might make you want to even go as early as October when people are a little less strapped for cash

I'm having mine at 35 weeks and 6 days... I'm due August 7th and my shower is July 9th. Perfect timing for me seeing as though hubby and I already have everything for our princess. The shower gifts are just bonuses 😊😊

A large amount of women have theirs at 30 weeks. That way, you know what you are having and you have plenty of time afterwards to get the last minute things needed after the shower and still have time to relax and prepare.
