How far in between ultrasound appointments??

Hi all! So today I am 13 + 4 and had my last u/s last week. But they didn't schedule me for my next one until almost the end of July when I'll be 18wks! That just seems sooooo far. Is it normal for u/s's to be so far apart? I had thought about also booking a private u/s sometime in between but read (of course online) that those places sometimes have heavily uv equipment since they're not medical... Any thoughts or help towards this would be very much appreciated!! Thank you 🙏🏼❤️

Normally you only do about 2 MAYBE 3 ultrasounds the entire pregnancy (I had more due to a previous miscarriage,  others have more due to being high risk).

You typically do one to confirm pregnancy in the beginning and then one at around 20 weeks that's called the anatomy scan which assesses progression and growth and looks for any defects (can also determine sex).

sounds about right to me. usually you only have 2 ultrasounds.  the first one to confirm your pregnancy and measure to see how far along you really are and give a more accurate due date and then the anatomy scan which usually happens between 18 and 20 weeks. people that have alot more than that are usually high risk.

I've had 3 scheduled ultrasounds in my pregnancy so far.

30 weeks

We paid extra for one at 16 weeks to determine sex, but insurance didn't cover it since the doctor doesn't medically need to do one at that stage.

So yours seems normal to me.

My first was at 8+5. My next one is tomorrow and I'll be 18+6. 
You should be glad they are so spaced out! I know you want to see the baby, I understand. But if you were having ultrasounds more frequently it could mean that you're high risk. You don't want that. 
Just relax and enjoy the time. You'll be surprised how fast it goes!

It's completely normal. I had an US at 8w6d and won't have another until 18 weeks for the gender scan. Some places do 12 weeks and 18 weeks. Some do 9 weeks and 18. And some do 9, 12, and 18. But for the most part, it's normal not to have another until the gender scan. Some people have to wait until 20 weeks to see the gender!

Totally normal but elective boutique ultrasounds are absolutely safe as long as they are certified and follow ultrasound restrictions (small frame of time, low exposure). I go every other week and my OB says it's fine. I get one ultrasound at 12 weeks and one at 22.

Totally normal.. My next one will be the anatomy scan.. I do get bi weekly check ups, where we hear the heart beat. I know it reassuring to see the baby, but you you really want waves or whatever the ultrasound signal is sending bouncing off your baby that often?
