Bleeding after cervical exam!

Help! FTM here and at my 38 week appointment I had my first cervical exam. Dr. pulled out her gloves and had bloody fingers afterwards and said I'd have some spotting for a couple days, but it's full on bright blood like I'm having my period. I went to grab some lunch afterwards and went to the bathroom before I left the doctors and before I ate, and I ended up bleeding through my panties and shorts while I was eating my lunch! I drove home with wadded up TP in my underwear and it was all bloody when I got home and now I'm wearing a pad. Any advice?
