Do you or do you know anyone that has a legitimate fear of obese people? This is serious.

When my friend was 5, this obese lady fell on him and he got trapped. He had to be sent to the ER because he stopped breathing due to so much weight on him. I'm 19 and he's 20 now. He has a legitimate fear. He's not rude or hateful towards them and he respects them like a human being but he always has to be far away from them. For example, I have to be like a human shield so he doesn't get anxiety attacks and starts crying. I've been talking to him about therapy but he says he will feel bad for going since he doesn't think it's an emergency situation that needs to be helped.
