After I got engaged, I went wedding dress shopping. I loved it. When they put a veil on me, I cried. It made everything real for me. I fell in love with nearly every dress I put on, but decided not to buy one yet because I'm more than a year out. The cheapest dress I liked was $700 and the most expensive $1500. The more and more I think about it, the more I'm not sure I want to spend so much money on a traditional dress I'll only wear once. My wedding is outdoors and is somewhat casual (khakis and dress shirts for the guys, no suits) I started thinking about just getting a nice, long, white dress that looked pretty, and maybe wearing a small veil and a flower crown, kind of hippie like. Thinking of this as my wedding doesn't make me feel sad or disappointed at all. I found a $30 dress on Amazon that is what I was thinking of. Gas anyone ever had a wedding dress like this? Or did you wish you have gone simpler and not spent so much money?
