I'm a midwife and we do something called 'palpation' which basically means we touch your tummy and we are able to feel the position of baby. We can feel the long hard back, and then we are able to differentiate between bottom and head because of the neck, the head moves in a different way to the bottom.
For my 34 week appt
How does your midwife know how your baby is positioned?.... my husband is military and i get seen at the hospital on base so ive only gotten 1 ultrasound which was the anatomy scan and thats when i was told the gender also. They told me that would be my only ultrasound thru out my whole pregnancy because baby is healthy so there is no need for another. So for my 34th appt how does my midwife know if my baby is breech or not? Would she just touch and feel my belly? Or would she have to do an ultrasound to determine that?
