No-fly times?

Does anyone know when the usual cutoff is for flying? My sis is having a baby in a month. I'd love to fly out and meet her. But I don't even know where to start. Do different airlines have different rules? When do doctors usually say no? And if I have a low-lying Placenta that isn't previa (yet) will That keep me earth-bound? I don't want to risk anything, but I'd love to go.

Call your doctor first to get her to sign off. The airlines are pretty loose, normally it's no flying after 36 weeks without a doctors approval, but you have to get your healthcare provider on board. Mine said no to me flying out for my cousins wedding! 😩

How far along are you? Are you doing an international flight or domestic? Different airlines have different rules. I'm flying at 26 weeks domestic, 27 weeks international, 30 weeks international and domestic again the day after. International flights will take over a day with stop in NRT and Doctor has given me the go ahead. I

Check with your doctor and verify with carrier the rules for flying pregnant. Also, if you're doing long distance, take baby aspirin, wear compression socks and drink lots of water. Have fun at the wedding!

I work for an airline and it's always a good idea to have a doctors note. I personally have never denied boarding to a pregnant woman, and I don't know that a single co-worker of mine has either. What I have always done is casually asked a pregnant passenger how she was feeling, if she's been drinking lots of water or if she'd like me to notify one of the flight attendants to have a large water bottle for her when she boards (when I fly pregnant the flight attendants grab me water- but I also work with them and know to ask). If there is a red flag, like there may be a health issue, THEN I would ask about a doctors note. But honestly hun, drink lots of water, invest in a pair of compression stocking (and wear shoes that won't make your feet uncomfortable if they do swell), grab a doctors note for safety, and relax and have a safe flight!!

I had a trip planned to fly at 20 weeks and Doctor declined. I was so bummed. I lost my ticket money. Check with your doctor to get clearance. Best luck.

I'm flying 15 hours at 23 weeks then again at 28. I think generally up to 32 weeks or so is okay. I got compression socks though for the flight because it's so long and you are at s higher risk of DVT.

I booked a cross country flight for when I am 31-32w. My doctor said I am low risk so it would be fine. I do plan to take a dr note with me to the airport. I am also flying tomorrow at 24 w! If anyone asks I am telling them I am 4mos pregnant not 6mos lol.

It's up yo doctor and airline, if you're healthy and all good they usually right a note and send your paperwork with just in case. My doctor told me with my last (I flew at 37weeks for my sisters wedding) to check to make sure local hospitals take your insurance, and that you are prepared while there just in case...but I went into labor the day after we got home lol

I am planning to fly at 34 weeks, it is doctor and airline dependent usually. My doc says as long as all is good then it's fine he will send me with my paperwork just in case

Thos is very individual:) I flew at 22 weeks(2,5h flight), without any letters from my doc. Asked if I can fly at 33 weeks (3h flight) for a friends wedding- and he said sure. But I'm not going - I'm a chicken 😬🙈

So just ask your obgyn/midwife:)
