Nexplanon Period!

Josephine
Hi! Okay!
i have had my nexplanon in for almost a month now, but before it was put in, i was taking low-ogestrel birth control pills. i told my doctor that i was about two weeks into the pack, another week and the pink pills to go.
and when i was taking them regularly, i would get my period on the fourth day of the pink pills. but after the implant, i was on day 7 (last pill) and still no period. but like 2 or 3 days later, and i know it's gross, but i put some toilet paper up my vagina, just to see how everything is going and it left a VERY light pink tint. and then two days later it was a light, brown, old blood type thing. and i just now went to the bathroom, and my underwear was kinda stained with new and old blood. and im also getting light cramps here and there.
is this normal? i mean, having old blood at first and then some new blood after? thats never happened to me before...

With that type of birth control it is very different for every person. I know people who do not have period on it. For me I had it for 8 months and got it removed because I was bleeding for months on end. I wouldn't worry too much about the bleeding thing. You just might get lucky and not have one on that birth control.

That happened to me when I first got mine too. Doc said it was normal because of the hormonal changes. I had mine for the full three years but wouldn't ever go back on it. The last year was hell! Mood swings, depression, anxiety, period that lasted a month and a half then stop for two weeks and come back for three weeks. Never again.
