Diet plan?

Question

Was anyone told to lose weight or put on a diet in their pregnancy? I'm looking to change my eating habits and lose a healthy amount of weight, all while still giving nutrients to baby. Does anyone have a meal plan or something similar?
I'm 286 and was 265 pre pregnancy. I'm only 16weeks. Help!🙁

If you can curb your snack cravings try to do that and it less take out, watch the fat,sugar, salt contents, drink water as much as possible. Really just watch what/how much you're eating. If you look up how much baby really eats/needs you'll see its very little and they don't pack on pounds until the very end of pregnancy. Since we as plus size women already eat an overabundance of food there really is no need to eat more because we're pregnant. You can eat normal or less and baby will be just fine, I know I'm almost 9months and I've only gain 13 pounds (before pregnancy 255). Baby is healthy and in the 54th percentile. I did nothing special, just watch what I ate.

I've been diabetic for years, but bodies are different when pregnant, so I changed my nutritionalist and routine and have lost maybe 6 pounds since the start, I'm 21 weeks.

I would start with a food log. It can help you see what your habits are and sometimes you can self correct. Ask your OB or dr refer you to a nutritionalist. My pre-warning is that most spend an appointment telling you things you don't need to be told. Like eat less [chips] and more [veggies].  So be prepared to interrupt her and run the appointment. "Here is my food log, I'm really hungry an hour after breakfast, and snacking more than I want, what are some changes I can make?"

I have friends on weight watchers and they love the point system. Years ago I lost weight on Dr Ian's -from some reality show- book. It was easier for me to follow because I didn't like calculating and thinking like the point system- he makes a list of food, I ate it every day, it started again at midnight. Celebrity fit camp? I wish I could remember the title. I liked how easy it was. But the points allow you freedom if you eat out or different stuff a lot.

I was diagnosed with GD so your diet probably won't be as intense as mine. I was told to maintain my weight I am currently which is 212, pre-pregnancy I was 200. But I was at 216 before going on the diet two weeks ago and I have lost 4 pounds but baby is measuring on target so he's still getting all his nutrients. As for my meals I count carbs which are sugars so that has helped me maintain and lose a little bit of weight. As hard as it is I limited pastas, rice, and sweets and added more veggies and protein. I also walk after dinner. This should help your weight gain be more steady!  Good luck!

I need help too I think I'm going to go to a nutritionist. I'm 5weeks. Around 270 pounds.
