Induction of labor; Reason???

FTM here and I'm just wondering is there a reason why they would induce before the due date? My doctor brought it up but she didn't really say much, and I was suppose to have an appointment today with her, but receptionist called couple days ago and apparently she won't be there, so they reschedule me next thurs which is day before my due date.. I'm really worried because I don't know what's going on 😫😫

Some doctors may offer it as an option. A lot of women are tired and jump at the chance. But you don't have to agree to be induced before you are ready to. And if you don't have an appointment until the day before you are due, then you won't likely be offered one until a day or two after if not a week later. Every doctor is different on when they offer them. But nothing to worry about.

Well from what I heard not to sure ur almost die so of u don't have the baby before or at 40 weeks they like to have an induction date set so that way u go as far as 41 weeks you don't want to go any longer then that so Atleast your prepared because those things have to be set ahead of time! Your fine they going to check me on Thursday I'm 38 weeks then I'll be 39 weeks and they said also something about scheduling and induction date :)
