I'm 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant I bought a fetal Doppler and I can't hear the heartbeat but I do hear the placenta, if the baby dies, does the placenta keep working? Or does it stop working as well?

I'm not trying to scare you love , but I lost my baby at 12 weeks with my last pregnancy. I couldn't hear their heart on the fetal Doppler which was off because I was able to hear it since 9 weeks .i could still hear my placenta though.  Were you able to hear the heartbeat before? 
Again, I'm not trying to scare you, plenty of pregnancies are just fine and healthy, 
Guess I just want to share my experience.

I didn't buy one of those for that reason of not hearing/finding the heart beat. I didn't want to stress myself out or worry about all the things that could go wrong. If your concerned call your doctor and ask them when you can start hearing it on your at home dopler.

Even at 12 weeks with your doctor, finding the heartbeat can be tricky as baby is still small and could be in a position where you just can't hear it. It's a "gray area" as our nurse warned us before the appointment. Thankfully the little ticker popped up right away, but they would have used a ultrasound if they couldn't find it.

My opinion is those tests are best left to professionals who know what they are doing and have other means of finding baby if it doesnt work for whatever reason. I wouldn't worry. If you can find the placenta baby is in there somewhere. I'd put your Doppler aside until at least your next check up. No need to stress over this.

Those things don't always work well. Stop using it. I bought one and it just made me worry more when i couldn't find the heartbeat. My OB still takes awhile to find the heartbeat that young.

Do not stress. It took forever to be able to find the heartbeat with my Doppler. And even after I found it the first time,I couldn't find it every time. Put the Doppler down and do not freak out lol they are nice to hear your babies heartbeat,but we are not doctors and you shouldn't base your babies life or lack of life, on them. I sold mine in my last trimester because I never used it,and was listening to my babies heart beat once a week in my doctors office. And once you feel them kicking you don't even think about using it anymore.

It took me till 13w to hear baby....and early on, you have to hit the exact spot....1/2 makes a big difference. Can take a while to find....

Placenta does keep on functioning for some time, but 11 weeks is super early to find a heartbeat at home. Up to 14-15 weeks I had difficulty finding if sometimes. Try not to worry and if there are no other concerns (bleeding,   severe cramping) enjoy the pregnancy and try using your Doppler in a week or two - by that time your uterus would move above the pubic bone and finding the heartbeat would be easier. U can get a heartbeat at 11weeks but literally it's so low and hard to get on the Doppler you have to be really patient. At 11weeks baby will be low like behind your pubic bone.

Not sure. I know a lot of those home dopplers have trouble picking up baby at 11 weeks so try not to stress. Also maybe is was down by the pubic bone so it might take a while to find.
