Period started again. Normal?

So I've had my Mirena IUD for about 9 months. When I first had it put in I had bleeding for the first month. Then no period until the past 2 months. My period is now regular, just a lighter, less painful version of what it used to be. Is it normal to restart your cycle after about 7 months of having an IUD in place?
