Anybody taking a Lamaze Class... what are the benefits? First time mom

I start lamaze class next week. Not sure what to expect. What are the benefits? Are any of you ladies taking lamaze classes.

We are taking a childbirth prep class. I think it will cover many topics.

I wondered the same thing.  Anything can happen you go to these classes and then bam your caught off guard, doesn't the dr and nurses walk you through it anyways?

Nope, it's a waste of time.

I did one with my first. My labor was so ridiculous and ended up in a c section, so I can promise you I never even got to use the breathing techniques I learned. I found the after-birth class (where they have you put a diaper on a baby doll) and breastfeeding classes the most beneficial!

I love my Bradley method class. It's long but they have taught me so much! They aim to prepare for anything, but esp if you are gonna try to go natural.
