Getting non-hormonal birth control

Ok so I heard many different options on IUDs. I feel that life begins the moment of conception ( not judging anyone else) so I don't want to do anything that would kill a life. But I heard that IUDs make it so fertilization doesn't happen. Other people say that I could let an egg be fertilized but it can't implant into the uterus. Which is correct? I can't have hormones because of health reasons. And am advised not to have children right now. Also thinking of the diaphragm. We always use a condom and spermicide; never have unprotected sex.
