I believe that it doesn't have to be sexual to be cheating. If someone is having an emotional connection I consider it cheating.

Role playing like "I'm the cop and you're arrested" could be considered cheating.

If you're talking about "I'm an elf and you're a Druid" role play that would not be cheating.

What exactly are you role playing? Like a multi-player game type thing? How involved is it? How often do you text? Emotional cheating doesn't have to be sexual, but there's a lot of grey area.

What are you 5? What is non sexual role play? If your man was role playing the way that you are, would you be pissed?

I've discussed it with my S/O and he views is in the way I intended it. I do it for the writing aspect because I enjoy writing. The kind of role-playing I am doing is merely writing a story with two people. It's not sexual and there is no emotional connection beyond two people interested in developing a PG plot-line with characters sharing no intimacy with one another. He respects that I just enjoy writing. He knows who I'm doing it with and I've offered up screenshots and he sees nothing wrong with it. He doesn't view it as cheating and he's not one to not be up front about things he's uncomfortable with. Example of the rp in place is- Two friends who haven't seen each other in a long time. 
That could be taken to a sexual extent but I have also told the person I am role-playing with that I have no sexual/intimate/emotional or other intentions that could even remotely count as being unfaithful.

What kind of role play are y'all doing? Like emotional, or flirting? If you're SO doesn't know about it, or wouldn't like it, than it should not be done.

Not technically but it's walking a pretty fuzzy line, and I bet you're SO wouldn't be too thrilled.
