Whether you've been a part of Controversy Corner for years, months or days- what have you learned from it? Do you apply things you've learned on CC to real life?

I've only been around for a couple months, and what I've learned is that some people just like to stir the pot. People definitely say things on here they would probably never say out loud in a room full people in real life. People feel safe smarting off on the Internet

Honestly nothing. It reaffirms how liberal the world is getting. And not in a good way.

For one, I've learned that I'm capable of having stronger emotions than I thought possible about people I've never actually met (both good and bad).

I came to the realization that it is impossible for everyone in the world to be reasonable

I loved CC about a year ago. There were probably 8 or 9 incredible women in this community. They had a fantastic balance of factual information and a willingness to learn from others. From them I learned SO much, I would even go as far to say that they have been the most influential people in my life when it comes to my personal opinions on major controversial topics. They just helped me to see problems from the opposite point of view and every view in between and to consider all individuals no matter how different they are from me.

Now CC pisses me off and makes me want to throw things at strangers.

I want to say I've learned some neutral/positive things about people, but unfortunately can't think of anything specific right now. 😕
