My boyfriend...
Okay, this is not about racism to begin with. It just so happens that my boyfriend, whom I love very much has more melanin in his skin than I do. I'm white, and he's black.
While he was stationed somewhere, he's a Marine (Semper Fi!!!), I went to visit him. After his nightly shower, I'd go in to take mine. (I do not enjoy standing in the corner of the shower freezing while a SO gets soap off their body.) The hotels white towels he had used would be in a pile on the floor for the maid service to wash later. And all his towels were splotchy black, like he was super dirty. But he isn't super dark, more like a chocolate.
He works on cargo planes for his military job on base. Is he coming home covered in engine grime, or are his dead skin cells rubbing off onto the towel and leaving it black?
Sorry y'all, I'm white and I know this is a dumb question. I just couldn't bring myself to ask him! Although he'd probably laugh at me. He's awesome.
