Estimated weight?

Hi ladies I've seen a lot of posts about how much your babies weigh? Just wondered how you find this out no ones ever told me I'm at midwife later and I'm 28 weeks??

The estimated weights can be off 2lbs +/- so all it does is worry you. My niece was estimated to be 10lbs 10oz then they did a c-section 2 days later and she was 4lbs 6oz. My nephew was estimated to be 7lbs 15oz and was born the next day weighing 10lbs 14oz.

I squeezed it out of my ultrasound tech when she was doing my 28 week check on the low lying placenta lol otherwise I wouldn't know. She said it doesn't really mean anything at this stage in the game anyways, I just thought it was kinda fun to know how much baby weighed in that moment

They don't always estimate weight. If you're having a normal healthy pregnancy there's no need to estimate baby's weight at this point. If you were measuring large or small dates that would be a good reason. I'm older, 37 so they are keeping an eye on baby's growth. There is a higher risk of running into problems with growth in older moms. So far baby is growing and following her curve nicely. Good luck. I'm sure your baby is growing, plumping up just fine.

It's estimated from an ultrasound but it's really inaccurate anyway. I had growth scans with my second baby and they said he'd be 5lb at birth but he was 7lb 2oz x

Ive never been told either. It seems to be something that is mainly available in the US. 
I've had lots of scans due to issues and babies weight has never been mentioned.
