Lunch meat !?

Question

Of course of everything I could crave it's a nice cold sandwich but from what I understand we can't have cold deli meats ? Any mama's take the chance and end up okay?? I've been craving it for weeks and just made hubby one for work and now it's only worse 😕

I ate them non stop. My OB literally laughed when I asked. She said its a concern from a time when food handling standards were sub par. You are more likely to get listeria from greens and kiwis and even then you are twice as likely to win the lottery. Fact. 👍🏻

My dr said its fine as long as i use my head ... dont eat deli meats that have just veen sitting around,  and go somewhere reputable for the meats ( somewhere they go through a lot so you know its being rotated and fresh ) like a subway , jimmy johns, or a larger chain supermarket. I had a turkey sandwich for lunch yesterday as a matter of fact lol !

I always have deli meats! I know many other pregnant women who do the same. I stick with the normal meats and nothing too crazy. If you're worried, worm it up a bit. You'll be fine :)

By the end of my pregnancy all I ate was deli sandwiches. To be safe you should heat the meat up, but I didn't.

I think it's fine. I just ate a sandwich the other day and didn't worry about it. I don't think it'll do any harm honestly.
