Low morphology and motility

Looking for advice.....
My husband has low motility 5 million sperm and low morphology 1%. They also found he has a varicocele...surgery is next month.  My question is would you wait to see how the surgery goes and do IUI or go right to IVF? I'm feeling so torn.
