If a woman gets her tubes tied, should her husband get a vasectomy as well?

My husband and I have decided that when we have our last child, if it results in a c section I'll get my tubes tied. However if I have a vaginal birth he will get the snip.

Seems a little redundant or overkill. From a medical standpoint it's easier and less health risks associated if the guy gets a vasectomy.  With tubal ligations though I wouldn't get the filshie clips because I have heard of pregnancy stories afterwards although it's rare. And a nurse where I work says many woman experience worse periods (heavier and more cramping) after getting their tubed down. But this is only secondhand knowledge I think your smart to ask questions though. We were having a casual conversation and I did mention I was thinking about as soon as heard that I was like no way, I'm not risking that.

Makes more sense to just get the vasectomy instead of a woman having her tubes tied. I've heard too many stories on women getting them tied and then getting pregnant somehow

If you guys have kids, and have a C-section, it makes more sense to get your tubes tied 
(when you know you don't want another one!!!!!😣) because the surgeons are RIGHT there! But if not a vasectomy is MUCH easier. It's a 15-ish minute surgery, and has a wayyyy easier recovery process!

But you both shouldn't have to cause if one of you are infertile you can't get pregnant! But if for some reason (open marrige or just to be 100% sure) you both want to get it done, it's your choice! 😊
