I am 16 and have been dating my boyfriend for 2 years. Yes I know I am young and it is not much time together in perspective. We recently started having sex as we are both happy, in love and we both felt we are ready. We know how important protection is so we always use a condom, but I would like to be on the pill - not just for extra protection as I get quite worried incase a mishap happened with the condom, but to manage my own body and periods. Unfortunately my Mother isn't very keen on the pill as she thinks it could give my boyfriend or any more future boys the wrong idea. I try to explain how my periods are irregular (I've had my period since i was 9!) and she still doesn't understand. I know she is my mum and she only wants what is best, but I feel like I am old enough to make my own choices about my body. Any tips on how to talk to and explain to my mother? or any advice at all would be appreciated ❤️
