Postierior position?

My doctor told me baby was postierior. I know she can change before I go into labor but just curious cause I wanted a natural birth. I heard its very difficult to deliver and may end up in C section. Has anyone dealt with this before? What was labor like?

My son was like that up until about 5-6 minutes before I pushed . They told me to turn on my left side and boom baby turned immediately. It felt so weird lol .

I had an ROP baby and had a long labor with lots of back labor. Ended up with an epidural in the hospital after planning a home birth, and went on to rest and deliver vaginally. It was a lot of work, but I love my birth story :)

At my childbirth classes the doula who teaches them told us to do 10 mins of pelvic tilts on hands&knees every day. She said it's also good during labor to ensure baby isn't "sunny side up"

My first was face up all during labor, and I had some serious back labor. I ended up birthing vaginally but it wasn't easy. I had a Homebirth planned so I spent a lot of time home in a tub. Labor was long, about 70 hours total, 50 being hard labor, including 7 hours of pushing before my midwife called for a transfer. She suggested a vacuum assisted delivery and thankfully the doctor agreed, because he was so close to crowning. He came out face up with his head turned towards his shoulder. My midwife said it looked like he just didn't get turned all the way around as he was descending down the birth canal. Back labor wasn't that rough after a while. It felt like a truck just rolling over my lower back, slowly, and it happened right before every contraction. After a while it didn't even really hurt, I got almost used to it. The pain wasn't sharp and stabbing, just dull and intense, so it felt manageable. It really helped to arch my back during a contraction too.

My advice: talk to your doctor about his feelings and experience with the vacuum. I only had a mild 2nd degree tear with the vacuum. Try to avoid the epidural. It can slow labor down and you won't be able to push as effectively with it. Plus, you'll need to be up and moving to help baby turn. There's a few ways and you should ask the doctor if he's familiar with them. I've heard of face up babies born just fine with an epidural, but in my case I think the epidural would have lead to a c-section. I was able to get him low enough for the doctor to attempt a vacuum, and I was able to push with the vacuum; and he was already talking c-section so it was a close decision. Had he been an inch higher, or I hadn't been able to activity push any longer, then it would have needed to be a c-section. And by that point when he said c-section I was 100% ok with it, just whatever it took, because I knew I had given it my all and whatever needed to be just let be. But thankfully the vacuum was enough.

I had a long and non progressing labour before we realised he was back to back. He turned just before coming out though and all was good 👍🏻

That's a lot better than a breech or transverse position so just know it is possible to birth naturally just gonna be a lot of back labor but whatever right lol that's labor for you

My first daughter was born in this position, I was induced and only laboured for 7 hours. No c section needed. My second daughter is currently in this position and I have tried everything to get her to tourn, nothing's worked yet X
