Zero sperm count?!?

So my husband went for his semen analysis on Tuesday and today the nurse called me and told me that it came back zero sperm. She said we would have to wait for me to have my HSG and our lab work to get back before we could meet with the dr and discuss next steps. So any help would be great!!!

My hubby had a zero sperm count. After another sample was tested, it was still the same. Next step was to have genetic testing. The tests showed that he was born with Klinefelter's Syndrome. It is a genetic abnormality. His chromosomal makeup is xxy. Klinefelter's doesn't really do anything terrible, but it does not let the body produce sperm. It is actually very common. We were told 1 in 500 boys are born with it. Our next step? We had a discussion about what we were comfortable with. It's not an easy discussion, but it has to be addressed.

Don't freak out just yet.  There is something called icsi that as long as there is one sperm to be found, they can make it work.  My ex-husband was found to have none.  We split up before going any further, but the Dr explained it would be similar to an ivf procedure.  They surgically go in and extract a sample, hoping to of course find more than one, then they retrieve your eggs.  They fertilize them by injecting one sperm into the egg... it's actually amazing technology.  You can Google it and see how it's done.

Are they planning on retesting? My husband's initial test that he took at the dr office came back zero but a second test we took at home and brought to the lab came back normal. They also did a post-coital test on me and could see sperm there as well.

I have heard of ICSI, however it is soooo expensive. We were just about to start Femera after 3 rounds of failed Clomid. 😔

Stay positive! My husband had a zero sperm count as well.. He's done approximately 6 sperm samples and there was enough to freeze in the last two samples! Trigger shot tomorrow and retrieval Tuesday! They will be doing ICSI as the count is still abnormal BUT there are some and that's all it takes!! Good luck to you!
