Sincere Question to Mothers

To start, I am NOT degrading the decision to parent or belittling parents. I am simply curious. Frankly, I love children and would like my own, but am beginning to doubt I'll have them for two reasons. 1) The poor and continuously crumbling state of chaos this world is in, and 2) I would not want to begin a family past the age of 30. I'm 21 and do not foresee a partner anytime soon.

Whenever the topic of having children comes up in conversation, and I point out that I'm leaning towards not having children, my parenting peers always respond with something along the lines of "but it's so worth it". No matter what my reasoning for not being on board the parenting wagon, I hear about the joys and how worth all of the hardships it all is. So, in a conversational manner, when asked how parenthood is "worth it", how would you respond?
