Take home urine test anyone?

My OBGYN gave me homework for this next appointment. I have to collect all of my urine for 24 hours prior to my appointment. Did any other twin moms have to do this? I know they're testing for protein but is that it? Is it just for preeclampsia or is it for other things as well?

I did it because my blood pressure was reading high but no protein in my office sample. But with the 24 hours I have double the amount it should be. I have been diagnosed with mild preeclampsia and don't need medication yet. I am 30+1 weeks hoping I can make it past 34. They are monitoring me very closely now.

I had to do a 24 hour urine collection also. They did it as a way to see my baseline protein levels. This way later down the road when they check my urine they will have a better idea if it's actually preeclampsia or just my body's normal protein level. They suggested I do it so they don't take the babies too early (if in fact the protein was just my normal amount).

Ugh I hated doing that. This is my first pregnancy and I'm now 32 weeks, I thought everyone did it?
