I get it, BLM... Now it's your turn.
I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm not black and will never completely understand what it's like to be judged by the amount of melanin I produce. I'm white. German and English heritage, I study genealogy and I have 1 great+ grandmother who was Native American and she's the only poc in my family on both sides for the past 100 years. I'm also in bumble fuck nowhere, aka the south. Born and raised here and happen to be Christian, which I mention because a recent post in CC seems to imply that matters.
Anyway I'm here to say black lives do matter and they need support too. Not just against rogue cops but against people in general. Discrimination. All that jazz? Surely you've heard at least one case of rasicm bs against them in your life, and even in your baked head you know that racism is wrong.
Their movement is a good thing. Yes there may be black people who are well off, some that make mistakes, are dangerous or (insert whatever else makes you upset this movement exsists). But when you spout #All lives matter on every post about racism towards black people or other poc (which is rare here😒) you're not being productive. Has that occurred to you??
The OP, the AAs on that post KNOW all lives matter. All of em'! It's all or fucking none because that's how humanity works! Have you noticed? If we can justify hurt even one being then what's stopping us from hurting more? That's the deal with us, we hold hands or we don't. So yeah all lives do matter, that's their point!! They are simply drawing attention to the fact that black lives are in danger more routinely and just even a smidge more than your stereotypical white, stable male eveyone picks out. We all want to feel safe and this particular group which often finds itself being discriminated against for their race alone. Which isn't ok! I'm trailing off here but all they're doing is trying to draw attention to a certain group of people who need some help. Need support. No different than saying #gaylivesmatter #asianlivesmatter #animallivesmatter #translivesmatter #menslivesmatter #rapevictimlivesmatter #blah blah blah so on so on so on
This particular group needs some support. They are threatened at a high rate. Not necessarily in comparison to groups B C or D all the time, but are more prone to it. I can't help but notice that there's people don't get that. This has nothing to do with any of the hundreds of accounts of abuse and discrimination against BLM or any of the rest of them and if they were even real events or the person deserved the outcome. That's not the point. The point is there's plenty that ARE real. Discrimination is real! Fear is real! Hate is real! At least some of these horror inducing, heart-wrenching stories are REAL and could have been AVOIDED but person A hated and wanted to hurt person B because of who and what they are.
Why? Because their parent taught them to hate? Because they had a bully with that trait as a kid? Their SO dumped them and they had that trait? Maybe they were upset their high school buddy who had that trait was more successful? Maybe since some one who had it killed their mom and they're too hung up and vengeful to not see them all as bad. Does that not seem rediculous to you?????
*sigh*...........
Yeah, all lives matter. Everyone knows that. But trying to draw attention to the woes of any group for help and learning purposes, that's ok. There's nothing wrong with that. When you leave a comment that just says alllivesmatter on a post like that, allyou'resaying is you can't even get the basics of what that means.
