Second hand store for newborn?

How do you feel about buying things like clothes for newborn from second hand store.

I got a whole huge bag full of gently used clothes for the same price that I would have paid for 2 outfits brand new. Baby's outgrow stuff so quickly, so while I still buy a few new things when I can't resist, buying used is definitely the more affordable way to go!

Oh! A BUNCH of my baby's clothes will be secondhand. I only buy stuff that's stain and hole free and still in good shape. Either way we should be washing ALL baby clothes - new or used - before we let the baby wear them.

I wouldn't mind as long as you wash them first. A lot of my duaghter's and now my son's I have been given from friends or family members with kids who have grown out. Clothes are expensive and kids don't stay in them forever

We've got multiple stores that sell second hand clothes in my area. I have no problem with it. I just bought a swing off a Facebook swap and shop. I just know with babies nothing lasts long before they move onto a new size.

I am such a huge germaphobe and ive bought a bunch of secondhand clothes. I have a brand new washer and I run the through on hot, so I know that job is getting done. Kids just aren't in one size for long.

I bought a few clothing items second hand, like cocoon wraps, as they are pretty expensive and aren't used very long. I washed it twice in hot water and on super high heat. I'll admit I bought most from the store but mostly only when it was either on sale (like a bogo event). But we bought lots of our main items second hand since we aren't getting a shower and had to buy everything ourselves.

Do it. They grow too fast for new clothing. I buy hand me downs for myself at Plato's closet. I don't like hand me downs from smokers though. I always donate those because they smell awful and I've had no luck getting out the smell. I also hate alot of people's detergent scents.. so that's a factor I make when buying clothes.. what does it smell like? I have some brand news clothes, but that's because baby doesn't need all used clothing...

It doesn't bother me, but the one time I looked it seemed like it was more trouble than it was worth. I spent hours looking through clothes and barely found anything I liked and baby clothes can be found pretty cheap online.
