Born June 21st, solstice baby!

Kaitlyn โ€ข I have a new healthy baby boy (: pregnancy symptoms were sore nipples, tachycardia, and a missed period.
I love my Sebastian ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™ Sadly he was born with meconium in his lungs, and wasn't breathing. He ended up being stuck in the NICU for a week. He's home and happy with momma moo cow milk. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿฎ
After 30+ hours of labor from induction an episiotomy, and an epidural, I've come to understand one very important thing about child birth. Anything can happen! I wasn't planning on having any sort of interventions when it came to L&D and had quite a few hang ups later on when I finally came down from the adrenaline. Pitocin completely put my son stress, because I had absolutely no breaks in between contractions. The pain was so intense that I couldn't move past it to dilate so I had been stuck at 3cm for 26+ hours! I finally had to get an epidural to help me through it. In a matter of one hour I was already at 10 cm!!! Thankfully I didn't need a C section.ย
I felt absolutely awful during labor that I got an epidural, because I was so against it and the pitocin since the beginning. I feel like if I had the pitocin and it wasn't upped so high continuously I would've been able to cope, and my son would've been able to cope as well. But knowing that he would be healthier outside of my body made me choose to be okay with my choice.ย
I came into this with a birth plan. A plan because my entire pregnancy was low risk and nothing was wrong until the last month, when my doctor found that my placenta was aging prematurely & the baby wasn't growing.ย
So for all mommies out there who had your worlds turned upside down during labor, don't worry!!! We do things for the good of our kids and sometimes have to make hard choices that have a negative to both sides... ย So don't feel bad or guilty. Everything happens for a reason... โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
