Braxton hicks or labor?

Question

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Beginning few hours ago I've been getting what I think are BH contractions about 4-5x an hour? Is that normal or could this be early labor symptoms. They're more uncomfortable than painful so I'm unsure!

They could be BH or they could be real. Real contractions aren't always "painful", its just how you interpret "pain."  If you can't walk or talk through them because they're so strong then they might be labor contractions. It also depends on how long they last. Labor contractions are typically over 45 seconds long. And they'll be regular and get closer together as time passes. Or they could be labor contractions and just be early labor that starts and stops over the course of a few days...that's also totally normal. If you can still carry on normal duties like usual then there's no sense in stressing yourself out over timing them. If they're starting to interfere with what you're doing, maybe see if they're coming regularly.

Sounds like mild bh. If their non stop, painful & get close together their real contractions.
