Advice?

So I'm seeing this amazing guy. But the real issue is this: we talked about sex, because I wanted him to know that I was a virgin (he invited me to stay the night). I'm 21, never really had a serious relationship, and he's 29... He said he almost eloped with his last serious girlfriend and I'm just a little uncertain about what that might mean for him and me. He said he's never dated a virgin before, and also that it didn't bother him that I was. He didn't seem super stoked about waiting very long, but he wanted me to be ready and really seemed sincere in saying that he wouldn't push me. 

Tl;dr I'm seeing an older, more sexually experienced man and I'm wondering if anyone who's been in my position can offer any insight.
