Epidural did it hurt?!

Okay so no doubt I AM getting the epidural, I am being induced on Monday, and I am just so nervous about the epidural I just would like to hear people's experiences?? Did it hurt? Did it not hurt? Just ANY advice anyone has and their expierences with it!

Anyone I've talked to said the contractions distracted the pain of the shot. They barely felt it.

Didn't hurt just felt a LOT of pressure then I went numb 😆

I've had 4 and no it doesn't hurt just pressure that last about half a minute. But I don't even look up how they do it What it looks like etc because I don't want to know I just know it works enough for me to not feel contractions but the pressure when you need to push.

I felt a lot of pressure but at that point my contractions were killing me so I was happy to feel pressure for a min and then bam numb!!!

I waited until I was at 5cm with very very strong contractions. Scared of epidural as well, honestly I don't know what was in my head it wasn't bad at all it was feeling the contractions and those wearing you out. It's cold but the nurse anesthesiologist tell you every step and what they are doing. All you have to do is listen. Not bad and to give you the sensation I felt, kind of reminds me of a Pap smear when they use the cotton tip applicator  :) just had my baby Tuesday. Hope that helps!

I wasn't in pain when I got the epidural and it wasn't that bad. Yes hurt a little but  I worked up my nerves for no reason.

I would agree with last comment... I was in so much pain from labor and contractions right on top of each other that I didn't even feel the epidural going in!

I was trying so hard to not get an epidural after my induction- but it was the best choice I ever made. Compared to the pain I was in when I asked for it- I barely even felt it when they put it in!!! 😂😂😂

My first fell out and i didnt notice until i could start feeling everything by then it was too late 1230 am and i delivered. My 2nd was perfect, i tried not to get it with my 3rd but chickened out at the last possible minute and it went fine as well, now my fourth im going to try not to get it again, i have no other reason for not wanting it other than i want the experience of feeling what child birth really is. But i hate pain so i will probably end up getting in.  Truthfully the only scary or bad part about getting it is just knowing something is going into my spine. It freaks me out, but still easier to handle than the pain from contractions.
