Our beautiful Cora Louise was born July 12th via scheduled c section. It was an amazing and healing birth experience thanks to the right nurses advocating for me to get the gentle c section I wanted. She's my third and final child and I finally got to experience holding and nursing my child after delivery. They also advocated for her to stay with me the whole time we were in the hospital. In the past all I got was a quick glance at my children until post recovery and this left me feeling robbed. I'm thankful that modern medicine has given me 3 healthy children but words will never capture how having some control over my birth has made me feel, empowered instead of defeated.
