C section earlier then scheduled bc of gd?

Hi! Just scheduled my c section for September 19th( 39+3) Have to have one because of complications with first born. Anyways after I scheduled it they called and said I have to do the 4 hr gd test.. If this one is positive will they schedule my c section earlier? Thanks!

If the baby is measuring larger than normal or is at risk for still birth because of gestational, then that would make sense. But just automatically saying you'll need to deliver sooner without even checking baby's growth/health seems a little presumptuous. I have GD and my son is actually measuring smaller than average and perfectly healthy, so my doctor's haven't said anything about me needing to deliver sooner.

I'm type 1 diabetic and will be induced at 39 weeks if baby is not here before then. Some dr's don't let diabetics go past 37 weeks but it depends on how your baby is measuring. 💕

I may have gd but they won't schedule early just for that. There has to be other factors. Almost everyone I know has it and they go to their due date or they are scheduled accordingly for their sections if they need one.
