Question for people who have toddlers And potty training?

Was wondering what I could do to help my son use the potty. He always tells me has to go use it but when I put him on the potty he doesn't go just sits there. What are some ways to help motivate him to actually pee on the potty?? Thank you.

I used to teach preschool so I helped potty train probably more than 40 kids over the years 😣. The biggest suggestion that I could give moms would be to follow a specific schedule instead of having them go when they tell you they need to. When we would first start potty training children they had to sit on the potty every half an hour whether they had to go or not. Stick with that schedule for at least a week and then you can try to stretch it to 45 minutes or even an hour after they have been consistently dry. It is so important to stay consistent with this if you want the child to have success. I have seen kids start and finish potty training in a couple weeks and I have seen kids take more than 10 months due to help at home or lack of consistency at home

I tried bribing: stickers, treats, toys. It didn't work. He did it when he was ready.

I let my kids run around in their underwear during the summer time. I'd sit them on the potty every half hour. They were potty trained in about a week and a half with 1 accident 😊😊😊

Maybe monitor his liquid intake and if the pamper is still dry put him on the potty and give him a book my daughter started going because I noticed when she might have to go and if it took a while id give her a book and then when she did it I gave her a snack or let her get a lil toy
