How many contractions warrant a call?

I'm 31 weeks and have been having some contractions throughout the day, but they seem to be a little closer now. Earlier today I'd have about two an hour and now I've tracked four within the last hour. No other symptoms to speak of. At what point do you think it would warrant a call to the doc/hospital?

My mother in law (nurse) told me if you have five or more contractions an hour, you need to call your doctor.

I was told consistent for 2 hrs with a max of 7 mins apart
